Welcome Josh Sykes to the Tigers for NBL1 2026!

The Melbourne Tigers are excited to announce the signing of Josh Sykes for the 2026 NBL1 South season.

Standing at 6’9, Josh adds athleticism, strength, and highlight-reel excitement to the Tigers’ front court with his ability to throw it down. Having spent the last three seasons with Eltham, he is no stranger to the NBL1 South competition and played a key role in the Wildcats’ 2024 NBL1 South Championship.

A dynamic forward known for his explosive dunks, defensive presence, and ability to shift momentum in an instant, Josh delivered an impressive 2025 season, averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks on 63% shooting. His ability to impact both ends of the floor will make him a significant addition to the Tigers lineup.

Off the court, Josh is highly regarded for his connection with fans and passion for community engagement. He brings energy to programs and events, meaning he’ll be a natural fit at Tigers holiday camps and junior development sessions.

Josh has shared his excitement to join the Tigers. “Excited to call MSAC the home floor. Will be a fun year playing under Andrew Gaze. Knowing a few guys will help me fit in with the culture and that alone will bring excitement to the games and the crowd will love energy on the floor. Keep an eye on us this 2026 season could be one to remember. Go Tigers!”

We’re thrilled to welcome Josh to the Tigers family and can’t wait to see him on court in 2026.
