Slaven Kajtaz Appointed Big V Youth Championship Men’s Head Coach

The Melbourne Tigers are excited to announce that Slaven Kajtaz has been appointed as Head Coach of our Big V Youth League Men’s team for the upcoming season.

Slaven brings over 10 years of coaching experience in the VJBL, where he has consistently guided teams to success, including a VC Semi Final appearance with the U12.1 Boys in 2025. His coaching journey is highlighted by multiple VJBL finals campaigns, as well as appearances at both the VC Championship and the National Junior Classic, and most recently awarded the Melbourne Tigers Watson’s VJBL Boys Coach of the Year award.

Slaven has shared his excitement to lead the group.

“I’m super excited to take on the role of Head Coach for Melbourne Tigers Men Youth League team. This opportunity means a lot to me and I’m grateful for the trust and support from the club.”

A highly respected development coach in the Basketball Victoria program, Slaven has worked extensively across the FDP and SDP programs, is currently a Basketball Victoria National Performance Program Coach, His dedication to player development and his ability to build strong, competitive teams make him an outstanding addition to our Big V coaching group.

We’re thrilled to have Slaven lead our Youth League Men and are excited to see him continue to develop the next generation of Tigers talent as they take the step into senior basketball.
