Big V Youth League Squads Announced for 2025 Season

With the 2025 Big V Youth League season fast approaching, we are excited to announce the squads for both our Men’s and Women’s teams. After impressive campaigns last year, both squads are eager to build on their success and take the next step toward a championship.

Youth League Championship Men

After finishing the regular season on top of the Watson ladder, the team showed incredible resilience battling through multiple injuries throughout the season. Unfortunately, their campaign ended in the semi-finals with a 78-91 loss to Sandringham. However, with several players aging out to move into the NBL1 program and promising new additions, the squad is ready to make a strong push in 2025.

Head Coach Jay Lomer highlights his excitement for the upcoming season, “The Youth League team is entering into a new era for the 2025 Season with the aging out players such as Mason, Taj and Reece it presents an opportunity for others to step up into those leadership roles and establish themselves within the league. To further strengthen our roster we were able to secure experienced players in Matt Power and Will Burgess while also bringing in several others who’ve progressed through the pathway of our Tigers junior program.

As such I believe we’ve created a great balance between youth and experience. I am excited for this Youth League season and I believe both the roster and structures that we’ve put in place throughout our preseason will enable us to sustain the competitiveness that we have shown over the last number of seasons.”

Head Coach Emilee Whittle-Harmon has expressed her excitement for the upcoming season “This group had a great few months of pre-season and I’m really excited to see what they can do in 2025.
