The Melbourne Tigers are excited to announce the signing of Chen Mingling for the 2026 NBL1 South season.
The 24 year old power forward joins the Tigers from the Guangdong Vermillion Birds, bringing size, versatility and further international experience to the roster. Standing at 6’4, Chen is set to make an immediate impact in the frontcourt.
Fresh off a strong WCBA campaign that saw her team reach the quarter finals, Chen averaged 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, showcasing her all-around ability and consistency throughout the season.
On the international stage, Chen has represented China in the 3×3 format at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where the team finished sixth, and most recently competed with the Chinese National Team at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament, securing a silver medal.
Chen will also reunite with fellow Chinese national teammate Shuyu Yang, who has already signed with the Tigers.
Chen’s addition adds another layer of talent and experience to the Tigers lineup as the club continues to build for a strong 2026 NBL1 South campaign.
