The Melbourne Tigers are excited to announce the appointment of Guy Molloy as our Senior Advisor of Female Performance, marking a major investment in the future of our women’s program at the Melbourne Tigers.
Guy joins us with one of the most respected coaching résumés in Australian basketball. Across more than three decades in the game, he has:
- Coached over 300 WNBL games, including multiple Coach of the Year honours
- Led the Melbourne Boomers to a WNBL Championship and transformed them into a consistent finals contender
- Served as Head Coach of the New Zealand Tall Ferns, guiding them through international campaigns with a strong focus on development and high‑performance standards
- Built a reputation for elite player development, culture‑building, and long‑term program success
Head of High-Performance Nick Abdicevic has expressed his enthusiasm for Guy joining the club. “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Guy Molloy to the Melbourne Tigers as our Senior Advisor – Female Performance.

Guy Malloy has also shared his excitement in joining the club, “I am excited to join the iconic Melbourne Tigers club in a mentorship and advisory capacity. Many people in this club have given me so much over the years and I’m hoping to repay that a little. There is some fine talent in its playing and coaching ranks and I’m thrilled to help that talent shine in the following months.”
