Melbourne Central Basketball Association Announces Partnership with Rookie Me

Melbourne Central Basketball Association (MCBA) is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Rookie Me, which will serve as the naming rights sponsor for the Melbourne Tigers representative program.

This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our commitment to athlete development, with Rookie Me investing in the high performance; and strength and conditioning of our players to help them become stronger and more competitive both on and off the court.

At the Melbourne Tigers, we prioritise holistic athlete development across both junior and senior programs. Our partnership with Rookie Me aligns seamlessly with this vision, supporting our efforts to deliver comprehensive training that enhances player performance and well-being.

Rebecca Thorburn, General Manager of MCBA, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership:

“We have a deep understanding of how crucial combine testing, strength and conditioning are for our athletes. This partnership ensures that as an Association, we’re investing in our athletes’ growth off the court as well as their performance on it, helping them to become better and stronger.”

Rebecca also highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration:

“Through our recent three-year Strategic Planning process, we reaffirmed our commitment to developing our athletes and achieving strong results on the court. Our partnership with Rookie Me is a testament to this commitment. After witnessing firsthand, the innovative technology tools and expertise Rookie Me brings, I’m confident this is just the beginning of an exciting and impactful collaboration.”

Both Rookie Me and MCBA share a dedication to fostering community and supporting athlete potential, making this partnership a perfect match.

Rookie Me is a trailblazer in athlete development, offering innovative technology and expert guidance to help players reach their full potential. By becoming the naming rights sponsor of the Melbourne Tigers program, Rookie Me is demonstrating their passion for empowering athletes and contributing to the growth of basketball in the community.

Their dedication to enhancing player performance and well-being resonates with MCBA’s values, and we are thrilled to work with such a visionary organisation. Together, we’re building a future where players can thrive, both on and off the court.

Energised by this partnership, Adham ‘Adz’ Dimachki, CEO and Founder of Rookie Me explains,

“Melbourne Tigers has always been synonymous with basketball in Australia, and we are proud to support the precedent they are setting in this landscape, as their Official High Performance Partner.

Rookie Me is renowned for conducting combine testing for AFL talent pathways and communities, so this is an exciting opportunity to support the representative teams in the MCBA.

General Manager, Rebecca Thorburn and the team at Melbourne Tigers have been forthcoming with their desire to invest in their athletes’ wellbeing and development — and Rookie Me will reflect this through our innovation and products.”

On 8 December, 2024 up to 600 of our Melbourne Tigers players will undergo their first ever combine Testing event at MSAC; and based on their results receive a personalised training program to keep them fit over the summer break. We’re looking forward to seeing the results with our athletes from these programs when they return to tackle Grading Phase 2 in 2025.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we embark on this incredible journey with Rookie Me.
