The Melbourne Tigers are thrilled to announce the signing of Indiah Bowyer for the 2025 NBL1 South season. Currently playing in the WNBL with the Canberra Capitals, Bowyer brings elite scoring ability and experience to the Tigers as they prepare for another competitive campaign.
Bowyer is a versatile guard known for her deadly outside shooting and ability to put points on the board in a variety of ways. In the 2024 NBL1 North season with the Townsville Flames, she averaged an impressive 15 points, 3.5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. Her basketball journey includes prior WNBL stints with the Townsville Fire and Sydney Flames, as well as a standout junior career. She represented Queensland at the state level in both U16’s and U18’s and proudly wore the green and gold for Australia with the U16 Sapphires and U19 Gems.
Head Coach Kaleb spoke highly of Bowyer’s talent and what she brings to the team: “Indiah is a phenomenal scorer with a high feel for the game and the ability to take over games with her shooting and offensive creativity. I think what stuck out to me was Indiah’s ability create scores and make it look effortless but also how much she has prided herself defensively with Canberra this season. Talking to Indiah, it was clear to see she wants to be coached, she wants to work hard, and she wants to compete and that’s why it was a no brainer for us to bring her into our club, as she fits with the culture we have built. I know she will be a club and fan favourite when she arrives”
Bowyer expressed her excitement about joining the Tigers: “I’m really excited to sign with the Tigers for 2025, I’m looking forward to playing in a new city and with a new bunch of girls and have a new experience in the NBL1 South”
Indiah Bowyer’s signing signals the Tigers’ commitment to building a team capable of competing at the highest level. Her offensive firepower and competitiveness will undoubtedly make her a key piece of the team’s success in the upcoming season.
