Junior Tigers Shine at Eltham/Dandenong Tournament

The Junior Tigers enjoyed a terrific Australia Day long weekend at the Eltham/Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament, battling through extreme heat and high-quality competition to deliver an outstanding set of results.

Across the weekend, our VJBL teams competed alongside several Development Squad athletes who formed teams specifically for the tournament. The effort, resilience and composure shown by our athletes in challenging conditions was a credit to everyone involved.

In total, 41 Tigers teams progressed to the semi-finals, with an impressive 21 teams advancing to grand finals. From those finals appearances, 12 teams were crowned tournament champions, highlighting the depth and strength of our junior program.

With 41 teams reaching the semi-finals, I’m extremely pleased to see the early signs of what should be another successful season for our club.

I would also like to sincerely thank our two Coaching Directors, Bonnie and David, and our General Manager Rebecca for the time and dedication they continue to give in supporting our teams, as well as the coaches who assisted with the development squads.
